LeadCart Lifetime Deal: Shut Down in January 2022 — the Case Every LTD Buyer Should Study

LeadCart Lifetime Deal: Shut Down in January 2022 — the Case Every LTD Buyer Should Study

By DealKeep Team · 2026-09-07

Short answer: there is no LeadCart lifetime deal to buy, and there has not been one since January 2022, when LeadCart shut down. It is the cleanest example we have of what a lifetime deal looks like when it fails completely — licences sold at up to $1,000, no refunds, no migration, and a domain that no longer resolves.

Deal status: is the LeadCart lifetime deal still available?

No. LeadCart was a standalone checkout and cart tool — sales funnels, upsells, downsells, bump offers, subscriptions, with no transaction fees — launched in 2018. It sold lifetime licences in at least two waves:

  • 2019: a $99 lifetime deal circulated on deal sites, stackable for more team members and sub-accounts.
  • 2021: a larger run on SaaS Mantra at $300 to $1,000 per licence, with the top tiers including a branded workspace agencies could resell.

In January 2022 LeadCart closed. leadcart.io does not resolve today, and the deal pages on SaaS Mantra and the lifetime-deal aggregators are all marked expired. LeadCart is recorded as shut down in the Lifetime Deal Graveyard.

What buyers were left with

By the account published afterwards, LeadCart had sold roughly 800 to 1,000 lifetime licences and created more than 2,200 accounts. When it closed there was no refund and no migration path — customers who had built their checkout on it had to rebuild elsewhere, and the money was gone.

One explanation offered by the founder's side was that LeadCart lacked the affiliate programme that let ThriveCart's lifetime deal keep growing after launch. Whatever the cause, the shape is familiar: a lifetime deal brings in a lump of cash, the obligation to keep serving those customers never ends, and when the recurring revenue to pay for it does not arrive, the product does.

Refund window

Closed in every sense. SaaS Mantra's refund period expired within weeks of each purchase, and there is no company left to approach.

What the LeadCart case teaches LTD buyers

  1. Price is not protection. A $1,000 licence shut down exactly as hard as a $99 one.
  2. Checkout tools are the worst category to lose. Your revenue stops when the cart does. Keep a fallback checkout configured even if you never use it.
  3. Watch for the silence. The warning signs — slowing updates, unanswered support, the founder going quiet — appear months before the domain goes dark. That is what FounderTrack is for.
  4. Buy the lifetime deal; keep the export. If your product data can be exported, do it on a schedule, not when the site stops loading.

If you paid for LeadCart and still have the receipt, it belongs in your tracker as a closed loss — not because there is anything to recover, but because the total of those losses is the number that should shape your next purchase. Our LTD ROI calculator will show you what the same money would have returned on a deal that lived.

Frequently asked questions

Is LeadCart still alive? No. It shut down in January 2022 and its domain no longer resolves.

Can I get a refund on a LeadCart lifetime deal? No. The refund window closed long before the shutdown and there is no company to refund it.

Was LeadCart on AppSumo? No. Its lifetime deals sold on SaaS Mantra and through deal sites.

The bottom line

LeadCart is the total-loss case: a real product, real customers, lifetime licences up to $1,000, and nothing left three years after launch. It is the reason every other page in this series starts with a status check.
