Lifetime Cloud Storage in 2026: pCloud vs Icedrive vs Koofr vs Internxt, Prices, Refunds and the Risk Lifetime Cannot Remove
By Dominique Abbey · Published
Short answer: four companies sell lifetime cloud storage you can actually buy today. pCloud charges $499 for 2 TB with a 14-day refund, Icedrive $699 for 2 TB with a 30-day guarantee, Koofr $199.99 for 1 TB through StackSocial with store-credit refunds only, and Internxt $599 for 2 TB with a 30-day refund. Filen's lifetime plans are withdrawn and the AppSumo listings for pCloud and Icedrive are sold out. We checked every price on 17 October 2026. The table below is the whole market in one place; the rest of the page is how to choose and what "lifetime" does and does not cover.

Lifetime cloud storage deals compared
| Provider | Lifetime tiers (one-time) | Refund | Client-side encryption | Sold where | Company |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| pCloud | 500 GB $219, 2 TB $499, 10 TB $1,499 | 14 days | Add-on (pCloud Encryption sold separately) | pcloud.com | pCloud International AG, founded 2013, Europe |
| Icedrive | 500 GB $399, 2 TB $699 | 30 days on the lifetime page, 14 in the terms | Included | icedrive.net | ICE PRIVACY LTD, Gibraltar |
| Koofr | 1 TB $199.99 (promos $120 to $160) | Store credit, unredeemed codes, 15 days | No | StackSocial only | Koofr d.o.o., Slovenia, EU data centres |
| Internxt | 1 TB $399, 2 TB $599, 5 TB $799 (80% promo) | 30 days | Included, post-quantum | internxt.com | Internxt Universal Technologies SL, Europe |
| Filen | None for sale | n/a | Included | Withdrawn | Filen Cloud Dienste UG, Germany |
Prices are the figures on each vendor's own page on 17 October 2026. pCloud and Internxt both run permanent "discount" framing, with crossed-out regular prices of $709 and $2,999 for their 2 TB tiers, so treat the one-time figure as the real price and the strike-through as marketing.
What "lifetime" means for cloud storage
Lifetime means the lifetime of the plan at the company that sold it. Two things make storage a better lifetime purchase than most lifetime software, and one thing makes it worse.
Better, because storage does not go stale. An AI writing tool bought in 2024 is frozen on 2024 models, which is the frozen-tier trap. Two terabytes bought in 2024 are still two terabytes. The feature you paid for cannot be quietly superseded.
Better, because the vendors in the table have been selling lifetime plans for years as their business model, not as a one-off launch promotion. pCloud has done it since 2013; Koofr's StackSocial listing shows more than 10,000 sold and 628 reviews.
Worse, because your files are the thing at risk. If a software vendor shuts down you lose a tool; if a storage vendor shuts down you lose data unless you kept a copy. Filen's decision to withdraw its lifetime plans in 2025 and 2026, citing hardware costs and post-Black-Friday demand, is the reminder that these companies can change course. Existing Filen holders kept their plans; nobody new can buy one.
Which lifetime cloud storage should you buy?
Price per terabyte, at the tier most people buy:
| Provider and tier | One-time price | Per TB |
|---|---|---|
| Internxt 5 TB | $799 | $160 |
| Koofr 1 TB | $199.99 | $200 |
| pCloud 2 TB | $499 | $250 |
| Internxt 2 TB | $599 | $300 |
| Icedrive 2 TB | $699 | $350 |
By what you need:
- Cheapest for a personal archive: Koofr, if 1 TB is enough and you accept store-credit-only refunds. Test its free 10 GB tier first, because that is the only trial you get.
- Best value at 2 TB: pCloud. The cheapest 2 TB on the market, from the longest-running lifetime seller. Encryption is an add-on, so budget for it if zero-knowledge matters.
- Encrypted by default: Icedrive or Internxt. Internxt is cheaper at 2 TB and much cheaper at 5 TB; Icedrive's lifetime plan includes 2 sync devices and 14 days of file versions and says plainly that heavy sync and NAS workloads belong on its subscriptions.
- Largest single plan: pCloud 10 TB for $1,499, or Internxt 5 TB for $799 with plans stackable to 100 TB on one account.
- EU data residency: Koofr states EU data centres; Internxt is a European company; pCloud offers a choice of data region.

Refund windows side by side
This is where the four differ most, and where most comparison pages are wrong.
- pCloud: 14 days, cash, stated on the pricing page. Short, so upload real data in week one.
- Icedrive: the lifetime page promises 30 days; the terms of service say 14 days on all purchases. Decide inside 14 to be safe and quote the lifetime page if you need the 30.
- Koofr via StackSocial: no cash refund. Unredeemed codes can be returned for store credit within 15 days, and the code must be redeemed within 15 days. Once redeemed, final.
- Internxt: 30 days, cash, through hello@internxt.com.
None of these is AppSumo's 60-day window. The AppSumo listings that once existed for pCloud (500 GB) and Icedrive are sold out, so the 60-day route is closed for storage.
The risk a lifetime plan cannot remove
Every provider's terms include a version of "we may change, suspend or discontinue the service at any time". That clause matters more when you have prepaid for life. Three habits cover it:
- Keep a local copy of anything irreplaceable. A lifetime plan is a convenience, not a backup strategy on its own.
- Record the purchase with the date, tier and refund terms. Lifetime storage never appears on a bank statement again, which is how people buy a second plan in the next sale.
- Watch the company, not just the product. The DealKeep graveyard tracks lifetime deals that failed; the TrueRanker case shows that a company can stay alive while the lifetime promise ends. None of the four providers above has a record there, which is worth something and is not a guarantee.
Frequently asked questions
Is lifetime cloud storage worth it? If you would otherwise pay for the same capacity for more than three to four years, yes. pCloud's 2 TB lifetime at $499 and Koofr's 1 TB at $199.99 both pay for themselves well inside that.
What is the cheapest lifetime cloud storage? Koofr at $199.99 for 1 TB through StackSocial, with promotions as low as $119.97. Per terabyte, Internxt's 5 TB plan at $799 is cheaper.
Which lifetime cloud storage is encrypted? Icedrive and Internxt include client-side zero-knowledge encryption on their lifetime plans. pCloud sells its encrypted folder as an add-on. Koofr does not offer client-side encryption.
Can I still buy lifetime cloud storage on AppSumo? No. The pCloud 500 GB and Icedrive listings are sold out. The four live deals are sold by the vendors or, for Koofr, by StackSocial.
Does Filen sell lifetime plans? Not any more. Filen phased out its Pro lifetime plans after Black Friday 2025 and has kept its Starter lifetime plan unavailable since January 2026, without promising it will return. Existing holders keep theirs.
The bottom line
Lifetime cloud storage is the one category where "lifetime" usually means what it says, because storage does not age and the sellers have done this for years. Buy the tier you need from the table, test it inside the refund window, keep a local copy of what matters, and write the purchase down.

Track the deals you already own
DealKeep keeps every lifetime deal you've bought, from AppSumo, StackSocial or direct, in one place, with the refund window counting down, a duplicate check before you buy the next one, and a FounderTrack warning when a tool shows the signs that usually come before a shutdown.
