Know when a lifetime deal's founder goes quiet

Lifetime deals die quietly: the roadmap stalls, support stops answering, then one day the login page is gone. Founder Track watches the deals you own against a verified list of failed ones and tells you while the refund window is still open.

Founder Track in DealKeep: owned tools matched against failed lifetime deals, with alerts and refund windows
Founder Track in the DealKeep console. Sample library.

What usually happens to a lifetime deal that fails

  • 89 lifetime deals verified as failed or at risk by the DealKeep community.
  • 81% of them shut down completely.
  • 12% kept the company alive but killed the lifetime plan.

From the LTD Mortality Report. Counts cover deals verified by the community, not every lifetime deal ever sold.

How Founder Track works

  1. Import what you own. AppSumo in one click with the Chrome extension, a CSV from any marketplace, a product link, or tell your ChatGPT / Claude assistant.
  2. Matched against verified failures. Your tools are matched against the LTD Graveyard, each entry submitted by a buyer and checked by a moderator.
  3. Alerted while you can still act. The alert names the failed deal, its marketplace and status, and shows your refund window beside it. Request the refund, or mark the tool as keeping.

Why the alert sits next to the refund window

A warning is only useful while you can act on it. Every tool in DealKeep carries its refund deadline, so a Founder Track alert reads as a decision: refund now, or keep. See the refund windows by marketplace.

Questions

What does Founder Track actually check?

It matches the tools in your DealKeep library against the LTD Graveyard, a community-submitted and moderator-verified list of lifetime deals that shut down, revoked their lifetime plan or quietly stopped shipping. When one of your tools matches a Graveyard entry, you get an alert with the match confidence and the deal's status.

How is this different from reading the founder's Twitter?

You would have to remember to look, for every tool, every month. Founder Track does the looking for you and only speaks up when something you own is affected. Every entry is verified by a moderator before it can trigger an alert, so a rumour does not become a notification.

Will it tell me before the refund window closes?

That is the point. The alert shows the deal's refund window next to the warning, so if a tool you bought last month shows up on the list, you can request the refund while the marketplace still allows it. AppSumo gives 60 days on most products; other marketplaces differ, see our refund windows reference.

Can I report a dead deal I know about?

Yes. Any DealKeep user can submit a failed lifetime deal to the Graveyard. Submissions are moderated before they appear, and every entry shows its status and year.

Can my AI assistant check this for me?

Yes. With DealKeep connected to ChatGPT or Claude, ask "are any of my tools at risk?" and the founder_risk action returns the same signals, with the failed deal's name, marketplace and status.
