Free Lifetime Deals: What Is Actually Free on AppSumo Right Now (Checked 24 October 2026)
By Dominique Abbey · Published
Short answer: most "free lifetime deals" are not software licences. On 24 October 2026, 37 of the 348 live AppSumo listings in our catalog were priced at $0.00, and nearly all of them are guides, ebooks, webinar series or AppSumo Plus perks (Plus costs $99 a year). The free software rows come down to KingSumo, Sticker Mule Pro, Headroom, Intellifluence, VectorGrove and a handful of Plus exclusives, and the cheapest paid software lifetime deals start at $2.99. Below is every $0.00 row by type, then the software LTDs under $20 that are live right now.
What "free" means on a lifetime-deal marketplace
A lifetime deal is a one-time payment for ongoing access to a product. The $0.00 rows on AppSumo fall into four groups, and only one is software you keep using.
- AppSumo Originals and freebies. Products AppSumo owns or runs, such as KingSumo, listed at $0.00 with no list price shown.
- Plus exclusives. $0.00 because the cost sits inside AppSumo Plus, which is $99 a year and also gives 10% off every order (checked 5 September 2026). You are paying the membership, not nothing.
- Guides, ebooks and template packs. Mostly AppSumo's own PDFs. Useful reading, not a licence to anything.
- Webinar and livestream series. Five Plus-exclusive rows with a $180.00 list price and no reviews yet.
If you want free software rather than free reading, a vendor's own free tier is usually the shorter route; see free alternatives to popular LTD tools.

How to choose a cheap or free lifetime deal
1. What does the lowest tier cap? A $0.00 or $19 listing is almost always the first of several tiers. Read the tier table for seat, project or usage limits before you assume "lifetime" means "unlimited".
2. Can you export your data? If you will put real work into a cheap tool, confirm a CSV or similar export exists so you can leave without losing anything.
3. How new is the vendor? Launchpad rows such as Headroom, Vitals for Mac and Keyshift AI are new products with few reviews. Test everything inside the refund window.
The refund window is your real safety net
Every paid Marketplace, Select, Launchpad and Original deal above carries a 60-day money-back guarantee, as printed on each deal page. Plus exclusives differ: the $0.00 price depends on keeping the $99-a-year membership, so the real question is whether you want Plus.
Put the refund deadline in your calendar the day you buy, even for a $2.99 purchase. DealKeep does this automatically: it keeps every deal, code and refund date in one place and alerts you before a window closes; the free plan covers 10 tools. You can also see your refund windows by marketplace in our refund-window table.
